How Does It Work?
Red light therapy is a type of photo therapy called photobiomodulation pioneered by Hungarian physician Endre Mester in the 1960's. It has visible wavelengths between 620-750nm.
When placed near the skin, photons enter tissues and activate chromophores, which triggers changes in cells that affect the mitochondria of the cells generating ATP to promote skin rejuvenation and relaxation.
Red light therapy has been clinically proven to penetrate the skin making it beneficial for treating issues affecting the skin's epidermis and dermis, such as fine lines, wrinkles, and superficial blemishes.
